Coolidge Johnson founded the company in 1963 as a residential contractor. Over the years as his customer base grew, he ventured into commercial and industrial projects. Because of his building expertise,he was elected president of the Tennessee Home Builders Association and later served two terms on the State of Tennessee Contractors Licensing Board. In 1975, the business became a Kirby Metal Building Installer and still remains with Kirby to this day.
In 1976, after having worked within the company since the age of 12, I joined my father as a co-owner of the business. I graduated from East Tennessee State University earning a degree in Business Management with a minor in Real Estate. Upon my father's retirement in 1986, I assumed responsibility as president of the company. Starting in the 1980's, I began teaming with local architects and engineers to provide clients with a total turnkey construction package.
Today, I strive to continue to provide my customers with the personal relationships on which my father started the business. The consumer is always looking for the best quality at the lowest price. In the construction industry, those two do not go together. The old saying, " You get what you pay for" is more true today than ever before in our industry. Consider Coolidge Johnson General Contractor, Inc. for your next construction project, and you be the judge of our quality workmanship for a fair price.
